This design function is enhanced through a number of strategic relationships with recognized external design contractors.
Our approach to product development is highly collaborative. In starting an undertaking we try to ensure both we and our customers understand the requirements of the application as fully as possible. Thereafter, the concept, detail design and qualification process is performed with the full involvement of our customers. This approach reduces our development timeline and allows us to be more responsive should requirements uncertainty exist.
During the design process, members of the Production office are embedded in the design team to ensure our products are developed with the principles of ‘design for manufacture’ and ‘design for test’ in mind. The production department at Ultra utilises a highly skilled and experienced internal workforce, as well as an established group of specialist subcontract manufacturers and suppliers.
Once transferred into production, our experienced in-service Support team will manage our products throughout the remainder of their lifecycle. Support services will range from straight forward repairs and spares through to mid-life upgrades and obsolescence management.
