Control Products
Ultra Electronics Controls has a long history in the design, development and production of high integrity, safety critical control systems. In many cases, these products are located in very harsh (high temperature/high vibration) environments, such as engine casings and nacelles. A number of examples currently in service include:
Propeller Electronic Controller (PEC) ![]()
- The PEC provides the critical interface and control between the Engine Electronic Controller (EEC) and the pitch actuation system
- Incorporates a dual-lane architecture featuring a number of interlocks to ensure safety including propeller ‘autofeather’ function
Engine Bleed Valve Control Unit (BVCU)
- The BVCU provides an automatic control of the surge margin of the Intermediate Pressure (IP) and High-Pressure (HP) compressor bleed valves.
- Controls engine deceleration in the event of a bird strike
Flap Electronic Control Unit (FECU)
- The FECU performs the control and monitoring functions of the Flap Control System (FCS)
- The unit controls shaft movement and flap angle and monitors for certain catastrophic failures within the mechanical components of the flap system
- The FECU has the authority to shut down the FCS and prevent/limit an asymmetric deployment event
